Billy Joel has created some of the most iconic piano signature lines in the history of popular songs, and they have drawn millions of aspiring musicians toward the keyboard to try to learn them...including me!

The best part is, through learning them over the years, I also learned invaluable lessons about music theory and the underlying mechanics of how those signatures were constructed, and I've been able to take that knowledge and make all the other songs by all the other artists I play BETTER with chord enhancements, rhythm pattern customization, and lick/fill/solo creation.

A series of 10 comprehensive masterclasses, each teaching one of Billy's iconic signatures down to the note, followed by a deconstructing of it, along with analysis and examples of how you can use what we learned from it in other songs to elevate your piano playing.

• "Ain't No Crime" - From his breakout album, "Piano Man", in 1973, this song has killer gospel infused signatures that fans have been asking me to play and teach for 15 years.
• "Piano Man" - The title track of his breakout 1973 album, this one has multiple signatures that provide us with great material to enhance countless other songs.
• Streetlife Serenader - From his underappreciated 1974 album, "Streetlife Serenade", the signatures in this piece teach you some amazing and practical techniques that will enhance your piano playing across the board.
• James - This lovely ode to one of Billy's friends from the fan favorite "Turnstiles" in 1976 gives us some wonderful insights on ballads and melodic improvisation.
• New York State of Mind - This modern day standard from 1976's "Turnstiles" features not only some of Billy's greatest and most enduring signatures, but the secrets it unlocks for enhancing songs across the musical spectrum are unmatched.
• Scenes from an Italian Restaurant - Perhaps his greatest masterpiece as a songwriter, this multi genre explosion of joy features multiple signatures that will deepen and expand your musical toolbox.
• Just the Way You Are - This breakout single that started Billy's long run of success on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart gives us a look at chord voicings, and tension/release tactics that you can use to make good songs sound great.
• My Life - This energetic favorite is full of fun signatures that give us practical options to take to other songs.

We won't just break down the signatures and analyze how they were constructed....we will pull song examples where those principles can be applied in every video.

We're Doing This Launch a Little Different

Master Classes

First, rather than string together a bunch of lessons in a sequence that may or may not fit where you are in your skill and experience levels, this course will contain 10 stand alone masterclasses on 10 separate Billy Joel Piano Signatures.

These masterclasses will each be 50 - 90 minutes in length and show how to play the signature in detail, as well as analysis and demonstration for how to use it's framework to your advantage in other songs.

Furthermore, rather than dump the entire course on you at once, these 10 master classes will drop over a period of 5 weeks...two lessons each week, going live every Wednesday & Saturday between April 1 and May 2 at 4pm PDT.

In addition, after all 10 Masterclasses have dropped, I will do a special Livestream Q&A for anyone who wants to attend that purchased the course on Wednesday, May 6.  I'll answer any questions anyone has for up to 2 hours about the course.
