This 1993 hard rock anthem is one of Aerosmith's finest songs, and one I remember enjoying greatly during high school, as this was released in my sophomore year.  It's a powerful message about the struggles of overcoming addiction, and blends hard edged guitars and drums seamlessly with piano and strings.  It's a true gem.

This song is another great example of my favorite of the 4 "essential feels" that we teach here at the "Piano Man Approach", the "Syncopated Feel"....or as we affectionately named it, the "Heartbeat Feel".  As do most songs, it offers plentiful opportunities to mold the rhythm pattern into a perfect fit for the tune with simple chord based improv modifications.  

This song really lends itself well to our favorite building block improvisation maneuvers....toggling and arpeggios.  All in all, this is just a great and satisfying song to play, so....let's dive in!!
